History of Camp Ellie Mae
In the summer of 1999, Miss Ellie Mae had 2 girls from church
stay with her and 2 of her own daughters for a week-long
sleepover. That week was full of tee-shirt decorating,
the start of the Camp Ellie Mae song (loofah loofah every day),
donut eating contests, relay races and s'mores
over a small coal grill. So how did that turn into the
Camp Ellie Mae we know and love today?

#CampLyf
Camp Ellie Mae is a camp dedicated to offering a carefree, fun environment for
elementary & high school aged girls!
The girls sleep in 2 bunk rooms & tents (that they pitch themselves!), sing goofy songs and get really messy with s’mores around the camp fire, take cold showers (because is it really even camp if the showers aren’t cold…?), and enjoy engaging, relatable, and encouraging Bible class throughout the week. Not to mention the obsession with the pool on hot days (and even on cooler days), trying to stay dry in the inevitable storm that seems to find us each year, the world-renowned arts & crafts tent, the mess hall that houses everything from Bible study, to our (gross) annual marshmallow eating contests. We have relay races, balloon fights (ok fine, it’s more of a counselor ambush when the campers least expect it…), MAC N’ CHEESE (just ask), tent time, and so much more.
OH! And more tie dye than we care to admit.
